In the Exeter area, there are a large amount of Tesla cars. Looks a lot more of them than anywhere else i travel around. Maybe a discount scheme ?
My Volvo hybrid had a 3000 pound cost for the hybrid part and then that is removed with a government scheme so it was a free extra. It has proven to be a good fuel saver by charging the battery on downhills and adding this power to the engine as you go along.
I used some E5 to go to Birmingham two weeks ago and found a tiny increase in economy over E10. Saturday, going to NEC and going to use E10 and see how that goes. I usually get 40-42 mpg on the journey but carrying 2 passengers this time .That normally uses 1 mpg for each passenger.
I still would not be able to get where i want with electric vehicles. Imagine Winter and raining using a heater, wipers and lights. I suspect the car might only travel 60 miles.
