Sprid, It was just a matter of seizing an opportunity when it arose. Last week was torrential every day & next week its scheduled to be very cold (I have cancelled tomorrows ride!).

My modern bike's MOT was due Nov 25th but I have to book it a day or two ahead and with the Xmas and New Year closures plus nearly two months of snow and rain ever since with a just an occasional dry morning I've chickened out on making an advance booking. It won't get done for a while as the forecast for the week ahead is for heavy rain, gales and snow. Stupidly I sold my bike trailer last October as I hadn't used it for two years but could do with it now. (Sigh).
