Nathan The Postman comes to the opposite conclusion - that the RE is better "quality" in terms of build and finish than the BSA.
I have sat on a BSA at my local dealer & didn't thivk that anything about it shouted "quality" - finish generally OK, but nothing special. I look forward to having a spin on one when the weather improves, by which time my hand will, hopefully, be up to riding. Just befoer Xmas when I sat on the BSA I couldn't move my thumb enough to grip the twistgrip. But a recent try in the garage on the Classic 500 I found that I could get a good hold on the twistgrip without undue discomfort.
