The sparkless magneto has now been rebuilt. Thanks to Peter @ Rutland Magnetos. I rebuilt the dynamo and converted the regulator to pos earth electronic. I’ve tried to post pics but it goes to an error message.

I’ve worked steadily most evenings and Saturdays to bring it back from the dead. It’s restoration began back in the nineties but it seems, stalled in 2002. From what info I’ve managed to find out it’s been sat around since, and after a change of ownership in 2013. The new owner died a few years ago.
I replaced the front alloy rim which I found to be buckled.
Both wheels now shod with Avon Roadriders.
New loom fitted. Thanks to George Prew for some great replacement parts. No thanks to Burton Bike Bits for supplying parts that didn’t fit and had to go back. Terrible after sales service too. Just waiting on a new tickler assembly for the remote float chamber it had the wrong one fitted that didn’t reach the float!
Also waiting for the unique U shape pipe that connects the float chamber to the carb. Last but not least, I’m fitting a front number plate as the bike is in std Clubman trim as it left the factory in 1960. Looking forward to trying out that legendary RRT2 box.
Supplied new by Slocombes of Neasden, not a million miles from the Ace Café.
