If the problem is high blood pressure and cholesterol, then there are other ways to deal with it rather then take statins.

I lowered my blood pressure from 140/95 to 125/80 by retiring - well actually by not sitting on my backside all day in front of a computer, by not eating out the sandwich shop at lunchtime, by walking and cycling more, and by drinking less.

Go back to the GP and ask for the non drug options.
