I am also somebody with a negative reaction to statins. I suffered muscle pain, joint pain and tiredness. I stopped taking them and was back to normal.

After consulting my GP he changed to a different statin and the symptoms returned. Then they prescribed a third version...same result.

Then my GP I should have a blood test to determine my cholesterol level. The result showed my level was 4.5, which he agreed was a level that did not need lowering by the use of statins. He also admitted that the side effects were very common, but the NHS had a policy of prescribing statins to "the elderly" . I forgot to add that prior to thr specific blood test referred to on here my cholesterol level had never been checked. One Woners who gets the commission for prescribing all those unnecessary statin tablets.
