It's possible for statins to combine unfavourably with other medication - hence the adverse reactions some of the posters here have experienced.

Here's a link to an NHS information page. There's an allusion to "regularly drinking large quantities of alcohol" as being a potential problem for statin-takers. Killjoys. They'll be recommending giving up crystal meth next.
