Firstly, apologies for mentioning the "B" word so soon after the last thread about them but needs must ...
Has anyone else had problems with Ebay's effing "Global Shipping Program"?
I want to import three pairs of handlebar grips available in the US (why I want to import three pairs of handlebar grips from the US isn't important here but I can bore with that part of the story on request).
From the Ebay listing, the effing "Global Shipping Program" would treble the price - i.e. without me even signing into Ebay, it knows I'm looking at the item from GB.
I converse a bit with the seller, as I want three pairs, he offers a lower price but, by the time I see the offer (because Ebay didn't bother to notify me he'd offered), Ebay's withdrawn it. He can't offer again so he asks me to offer, I offer the same, he accepts, but between me making the offer, him accepting and Ebay asking me to pay, Ebay's (not the seller) added $20 to the total price.
Ebay's weasel words when you make an offer is the total price is "Estimated". But I think, hang on, Ebay knows I'm looking at the item from GB without me signing-in; in any event, you have to sign in to make an offer, how come they can't calculate the correct price at the time of the offer?
