I've ordered a disk brake kit from India too as that is a sensible upgrade for modern traffic.

I can't say that the standard disc front brake on my current Classic 500 is that much better than the TLS drum brake on my previous 4 speed 350 & 500 when the drum brake had been properly set up. Proper set up was a time consuming afair - much chalking of brake shoes, filing off high spots & careful linkage adjustment to get both shoes contacting at the same time - but did make a noticable difference.

Changing the OEM disc brake pads for Ferodo organic pads made a noticable difference to the Classic, but it still requires a meaningful squeeze of the lever to obtain serious retardation - a "two finger" tyre squealer this is not !
