I tried the gloves in helmet thing. No good for me as it made the helmet far too tight and I could not do the damned chin strap up.
Same with the helmet on the mirror, another silly idea. I tried that as well, but found that then I could not see what was behind me.
Other opinions may be available but this one is always correct.
