My C Max rear light was the same. I was away from home and wouldn't have bothered but my wife insisted we get it fixed. Having no tools with me I can tell you it was totally worth the three quid Halfords charged to change the bulb. It took them over an hour and a lot of tools.

This is why 1950s singles are so great. No nonsense
