Strange attire indeed.

I once, for a lot of years, owned two Harley's. Yes two.

When we went to live in Somerset I went on a monthly Sunday "ride out" arriving n traditional motorcycle riding gear. Boots, leather trousers and jacket (body armour fitted), a full face helmet and proper gloves. I also carried wet weather gear in the boxes (panniers). I was almost ostracised for my lack of the same dress sense as my bro's. It got worse when I removed my jacket and helmet was un tatted and had a close trimmed beard.

When we arrived at the final destination a clown calling himself the "Ride Captain" tried to admonish me for overtaking some of the bro's and worse, daring to ride at 70+mph on an empty dual carriageway. I have to say I was very rude to the poor sales rep of a a Ride Captain and then rode home.

Sales rep you ask? Well about ten days later an area sales rep who wanted our business, worth about £500,000 a year came to call.....yes it was the RC. Oh how embarrassed was he. He didn't manage to sell me anything either.
