On overtakes and generally getting going; its not as powerful as the BMW F750 (64hp vs 76) but that's not huge difference and it doesn't need to be revved hard to do what you want. I never explore the upper ends of the power band anyway. It's get up and go is quite adequate. Some reviews say is stunted below 3k rpm. I never noticed.
On mechanics, it sounds much better than the BMW which clatters like mad. Both have a clutch rattle when in neutral with clutch out (so did my Ducati GT1000), BMW is worse though. At least the Guzzi has a quiet motor with a nice exhaust note.
On ride position its smaller and I felt that a lot at first. But the F750 has lowered suspension and a normal seat so the knees are a bit straighter. However I quickly felt comfy.
On handling, wet roads so I wasn't pushing, but it felt fine.
Tech - its unobtrusive and not too much of it No rider modes or connectivity or twiddly knobs to distract you from looking down the road. I hate big screens on cars and bikes and I specc'd the BMW with the LCD basic display ( still not basic though) so back to traditional dials will be fine. The test ride was on a Stone with the digital dial, the purchase is a Special with two normal dials. OK I may get fed up flicking through display modes to get to see the time, but I'll probably cope.
Finish - Looks lovely!
They are putting a main stand on it for me and I'm away a few days next week so I'll collect it later in the month.
