Having spent a full day track day Friday at Cadwell Park plus Saturday and Sunday with the British Historic Racing Club it would seem my No2 race bike is due to be put in the nearest skip. Total mystery. After 15 minutes on track at race speed the water Temp rises and by the time I have got back to the race paddock the gauge is in the red. Once the bike cools down and I can remove the radiator cap I have lost water. The engine has no external leaks and water isn't getting into the engine so where is the water going. It has to be getting into one of the cylinder heads and blowing out with the exhaust gasses, but how? I have had the engine pressure tested for cracks and all looks ok. I have changed the complete water system ie new rads, hoses, thermostat and rebuilt the water pump so nothing left there to replace. This fault has now beaten me and the sooner it goes the better. Think I will just advertise it very cheap with known fault and maybe the next owner can break it for spares. Im at a time in my racing life that won't go on much longer as I am starting to struggle with grip and strength in my hands so don't want to waste anymore time stripping bikes I just want fun track time while I'm able to.
