The only thing that spoilt my evening ride is the state of some of the roads.

Not seen any top dressing on any of the local roads this year, as a result on a couple of my favourite roads the surface has worn down to the "planing" - you know what I mean, those gouges in the road when they plane off the old surface and top dress.

Despite all my bikes have decent tyres, and the correct pressure riding over these planed surfaces makes it feel like you have a soft tyre, the tyres just want to follow the grooves, and it is very unerving / unsettling.

One road in particular I daren't not go over about 40, as it feels like you are going to get thrown off.

One of the blokes at the bike night will not ride a couple of the local roads, he calls them death roads - can see how an inexperienced rider could end up in the ditch.

Guess it is only going to get worse.
