I used to do electrical work at a local farm and the farmer was always poor. He was able to buy some very nice new cars though and lived in a large Mansion on the farm which had income from 7 flats within. That Mansion now belongs to the Michelin chef, Michael Caines.
The poor farmer was always very tight fisted. He then married a woman 30 years younger and at age 70 died of dementia. Widow sold the mansion and farm and went seeking another farm and farmer.
Nice mansion known as Courtlands in Lympstone and some farmland became new housing plus vineyards
