Well, I've been out on my newly restored 18S. Only the standard two miles uphill (I learned a few years back always to test uphill - especially in a heatwave it's a lot easier to get a dead bike home!) and it seems very, very nice.

A couple of minor snagging points - the chain is clanging the chaincase somewhere - can't spot where as yet and the throttle friction screw which I did up so I can cruise whilst waving my right arm signal doesn't sit evenly in the twistgrip. Needs a new twistgrip part as a channel has been worn unevenly by the screw which grips at open throttle but not at minor throttle positions. The footrests are slightly too forward for my big feet making gear changes fiddly - easily adjusted.

It ticks over perfectly, really perfectly with its new carb and rebuilt engine and rides very pleasantly. The new, woven brake linings need bedding in but are already very strong.

I'd say it's been a pleasant morning. Pleasant enough that I haven't written the advert yet...
