One of the early runners in scenic model railways was John Ahern. His Madder Valley layout still exists at the Pendon museum in Oxfordshire. All of the businesses in the model village surrounding the railway had amusing names. The only ones I can remember are 'Quibble and Cuss' solicitors and Bodgit and Scarper builders.

On a slightly different note, back in the early 80's one of the places I had to visit when I was repairing computers was Firkins Bakery in West Bromwich. The M.D. was called Mr Bunn...
