Got a Stanley one of those, together with one of the heavier duty 'crank' ones, inherited from my brother, together with other wood working tools. Showed my woodworking/builder son a Govt Surplus 1943 (dated, with arrow mark) ratchet screwdriver.
'Didn't know they had them back then'.
Month or so later, saw a pre WW11 '100 Woodworking Projects for Boys' book in a s/hand shop. Gave it to him, he was amazed at what used to be done.
