Its all getting interesting and an EV will not be a choice at all for me as i need to arrive at places and be able to turn around and get back. My one experience with a 60k EV on a -4 day with ice on the screen needing a heater and wipers turned it into a car with 60 miles range and only at slow speed as the batteries give out lower power in the cold so i just could not use it for the short journey i was doing. I will never be forced into an EV as i will be too old when its all you can drive.
I still think its odd seeing these EVs in the lorry lane on motorways tucked behind a lorry for slipstream tow and no lights on just hoping they can reach a charger. One Exmouth garage has installed an outdoor laundry so you can wash clothes as the car charges. Only one i have seen and its at Ebford, a village you pass when heading for Exeter.
I may just take out an EV car for a test for 2 hours on a cold wet day and see how much battery power is left when using all its equipment, lights etc.
The cheap Evs being offered by Smart and Citroen have very limited mileage.
I tried quite a few Hybrids and no problems with any make. Possibly the best developed was the Renault Arkana but it was just a bit too big.
