All my toughened safety glass units have a round symbol in a corner to show it meets the safety standards. These symbols are on all low fitted windows and conservatory glass. About 13mm etched into the surface. It must be whatever safety standard is required.
When the new University building was built here , there was an atrium with opening panes operated by rams and controlled by the heat in the atrium. These also had closing if the rain sensor picked up water.
What someone forgot was the weight of this glass which just snapped off the ram brackets. I had to make large steel brackets in order to refit the rams. There was some difficulty holding this glass up to reconnect and i remember there were two of us on the scaffold and two outside of the raise atrium. Roof always leaked due to gull nesting in the valleys of the alloy sheet roof. Last week i see scaffold up on it again by the new owners, Blind academy.
