'Fraid on this subject Geoff is just posting ignorant bollocks. Apart from the photo. I've just posted ("One for Geoff" ), I've skied for years, in the Alps, Norway, Sweden and Finland. The suggestion that inhabitants and visitors can't drive their BMW's, Mercedes, etc. in winter, have to get around in Fiestas, would be laughable if it weren't so ridiculous. When I lived in Kent, I used to drive our own Merc (E320 then C270) overnight to the Alps.

As Geoff doesn't ski, he wouldn't have any first-hand experience of the above countries in winter.
