One thing I learned during my trips to the UK and camping in pub gardens was the basics of brewing a good cup of tea.

1) No "Lipton's", which is made of sweepings and stems.

2) An extra spoonful for the pot.

3) Water has to be hissing, bubbling hot when it hits the tea in the warmed-up pot.

4) If you use milk, the brew has to be the color of Thames river water.

A Brit would spit out what passes for tea here...
