My worst event was a Le Mans start at Brands production race a big field of top riders
The flag dropped dashed across the track on the bike and kicked... Nothing kept on kicking still nothing there was somebody else further up the track on Triumph Bonnie doing the same.then realised as I ran across the track and grabbed the bars I had knocked the advance retard lever to retard.. Got away with the Bonnie behind me trying to catch up dicing with the Bonnie who just happened to be in our team Mick Bool...
Comming into Clearways flat out ( long circuit) my gearbox seized held the bike until stopped the rear tyre was worn down to the canvas Mick came seventh.
Fool me I had removed the extra engine plate on the drive side to reduce weight ..you learn by your mistakes Mick thought what the Bl---y hell is he cracking so hard for.. Happy Days
