I rode to Hampshire and back today, across Salisbury Plain, Andover, Whitchurch, Kingsclere then Tadley for lunch (my home town).
I came back cross country to Hungerford involving lanes that had huge craters, covered in washout stone piles and one 60yard foot deep flood. What did Hampshire spend the road budget on last year? Not roads, certainly. Sod it - I wasn't turning back so I rode on through the flood. Reminded me very much of my green laning days. A4 Hungerford to Calne then back way to Melksham and home to Bath.
146 miles of trouble free running but a little cleaning to do now. This was my test ride for both bike and me in preparation for a Welsh tour. 150 mile days are more than I need to do on that so it was nice to see it was just an easy pleasure. 6hrs garage to garage with a stop for lunch. Ajay started first kick every time but now needs a clean!
