In reality 90% of the riders were in dark protective clothing, mainly fabric of some sort. I don’t suppose there were more than half a dozen of the hump backed multicoloured leathers knee slider brigade, and to be fair to them, at least their clothing was ultra protective.
I just looked like a tramp, as my wife commented lovingly.
