Been working hard on my Family tree recently, managed to crack Mums Fathers side which was difficult. Mum always knew that he biological Father died in a Steam Lorry accident in 1927 - I have the story from the newspaper of the day. Mums Brother was driving the lorry for his Brother who owned a Transport Business, aparrently one of the Steam lorries was buried underneath the garage Mum Dads brother built, dont know if it was the one that killed Mums Dad, or the reason why it was buried. Heard the story 3 times now, the next time I am up around that way I am going to call into the garage and see if anyone else has heard the story. I like to think it was buried because it was the one that killed Mums Dad - either it was an expensive piece of kit to simply bury. Guess they had their reasons, and no I am not going to ask if I can have a dig !! |
