Not sure engine life is lower on stop start cars. My old Vauxhall is still running well with over 140,000 miles so far. Stop start cars also have an engine oil designed to work well with a cooler running engine. I like the idea and mine have been start stop cars for about 15 years now. Some have a separate battery for starting so 2 batteries in Volvos. One car that did have a premature battery failure was a UK built Nissan with battery failure at 18 months.
When buying my Toyota, i needed knobs for the heater and a radio i could alter with buttons on the wheel and an off switch.
The last Volvo was touch screen for everything and very difficult to work when driving as you needed to look away from the windscreen.
The controls on my cars are now my main thing to look at when buying.
