It doesn't matter at all, Jerry, unless you're an investor. In some ways it's a great thing as old clunkers will eventually be more sanely priced. But, there will always be knock on effects - cheap bikes mean low demand so spares will lose value and spares suppliers will struggle as demand drops, for example. The fairly sudden way Brit bikes seem to have dropped in price or stopped selling does make me think it may not all be a good thing.

Add to that the general decline in bike sales, shoddy roads, Facebook algorithms (like mine that notifies me of every bike death in the UK, or so it seems), the tanks people drive badly etc and I'd say bikes are on the way out, long term certainly. Hopefully enough time left for those old farts like us that still ride them to enjoy until age rather than anything else stops us.

On that note, I'm off out with a mate for a spin shortly on this gorgeous, sunny day. And it's VE day weekend so we can celebrate something at least.
