I do get regular diabetic checks and the eye inspection is Tuesday followed a week later by blood tests. All my prescriptions are free being over 70 but i used to pay for each one until i reached 60. Strange that a load of tablets i needed, 6 different types of tablet were given out but someone refused my diabetic medicines. They blamed a computer that had in its memory just 1 tablet a day when i need to take 4. Computer told them i had a lot in stock. When i kept telling them the computer is wrong, they would not believe its possible. Then someone actually read the Drs notes stating 4 tablets. I take 15 tablets a day on a regular basis but sometimes i need some extra ones for other developments.
Its good i get monitored well but when i really need to see someone, thats when it all goes flat on its face. Next Month should be Aneurysm check.
These various problems make my travel insurance cost 1200 pounds for multi trip this year. It went up another 350 pounds. Of course, the risk for insurers increase with age but i see 90 year old people abroad in wheelchairs and legs all bandaged plus oxygen bottles and i doubt they can get cover so must have fake insurance for ship travel. Insurance is compulsory on the ships. A lot of people get taken off on a 5 week tour. My insurance limits me to 35 days on any one holiday yet some people go for 100 day voyages. How ?
My neighbour with a cancer which does not limit him much cannot insure now. 2 years ago, i was turned down for travel insurance due to NHS failing to test for cancer. Lucky, that i only had polyps to get removed.
