You are correct, Geoff. There has been a war going on somewhere every single year since 1945.

The future looks pretty bleak at present but since it's not in my control I intend to enjoy life whilst it's still possible and pity the poor people in those parts of the world where peace is non-existent. Watched an interesting Simon Schama documentary on the Holocaust the other day - large proportions of people currently not believing it ever happened, it seems. Perhaps it's no surprise we seem doomed to repeat history.
