Roadworks just outside town so big tailbacks for commuter traffic so many regulars use the route through Daves village of Woodbury. Again today, a speed camera van lurks behind a wall to catch all this extra traffic exceeding 30 mph downhill. I went over the Common and find the local volunteer force of 3 old men using a police issued camera. This one is on a bendy section with no pedestrians or housing so no possibility of causing any harm if you did 35 mph. Not even a pavement there and never seen anyone walk that narrow road. If those pensioners grass you up, no action is taken anyway but a letter comes to say they caught you.
Very difficult to speed across the small lanes of the Common as you may meet a car or lorry at any corner.
I did hit 2 very deep potholes but missed a lot. Then the rear wheel went over a small pebble and stepped out a little.
Interesting ride for sure and checked the rims on return. Some pothole mending going on but very hard to keep up with the damage.
Meanwhile, i have finished the painting of the black/white fuel tank and ready to fit. Also sold a spare tank and mudguard set at 360 pounds so have another 3 tanks and 6 mudguards to sell soon as clearing a lot of my large gathering of parts. I think the spare wheels will be over 200 pounds each then i have to sell about 500 quality spanners of all sizes some are large for old cars when people actually repaired their own.
I have equipped 3 Grandchildren with spanner sets and 2 twins have a lot of building and power tools now they have bought a house together.
Time to thin out the garage hoard. keep just enough to repair my bikes and the house.
