I spend a lot of time watching the real World wars. I find it interesting. Of course, my Gran was making artillery Shells back in 1916 at Liskeard. 2 Grandfathers were in WW1 and one was in both wars. Great uncle killed an 1916. I have ended up with Grandads medals and also a pocket timer in silver that was used prior to everyone going for no mans land charge. I expect that timer was from a fallen officer and he picked it up. Still working very well.
One Grandfather, when given his medals, just kept them in a drawer in envelopes with separate envelopes for the ribbons and never wore them or opened the envelopes. Of course, they are brand new condition still. I framed them up with the envelopes and his picture and details. Maybe Grandchildren will want them but no interest shown yet.
Interesting watching Ukraine war now Russia is sending in troops riding on battery powered kids scooters and mini motorbikes as they run out of armour. Many are entering battles in Lada cars and small farm vehicles and getting massacred .
Latest trap is a blown bridge over a river and Russians walk over the rubble and are easy targets for drones. They still just keep trying to cross.
