Quite common, & has been for years. When I was in the Civil Service getting on 40 years back if someone contacted their MP it was referred to as an 'MP's Jacket'.
Not only would the case get priority attention, but the file would be gone through with a fine toothcomb, to make sure all regs etc had been followed to the letter.
