I was encouraged to read the Guardian and the Telegraph when I was a student studying political ideology and history. I always enjoyed the days when the same story was, apparently, fantastic and awful for the country at the same time.

I have only recently stopped bothering with the news, really as it's just so unremittingly awful and I can't do anything much about the people in charge. In the same way that the Guardian and Telegraph were so different my daily life is very different to the misery I see on the news mostly full of lovely encounters with people. It's much nicer to think about that so I do - obviously in between thinking about whether to sell my latest or all bikes and buy another/give up bikes. You know, the normal daily pondering!!
