My first 18 years of riding, when I only had one bike at a time and used it every day in all weathers, I never spent any time or energy on cosmetics and my bikes (aside from the moving parts which were always oily and adjusted) stayed pretty dirty.

My bikes now aren't show bikes, but when Fay suggests I clean them up some, I always look pitiful like I need help and she usually obliges.....
