One year we stopped in a village on the coast that still had working boats. Sat outside a pub in the sunshine, there was the distinct aroma of hashish. Only source was a group of older, rough looking blokes - think of the folk group 'Fishermen's Friends'. Got friendly with a lass from a local commune. apparently the fishermen in the area supplemented their income by picking up bales from out at sea.
