Extra 9 million will get it now. At least the more wealthy are excluded. I am waiting to see if savings exclude it but so far, it appears that they pay out based on your tax returns and tax codes. I pay quite a bit of tax on my pensions although my wife does not as only on state pension.
Something for nothing is great. My own heating bill is very low as my insulation is excellent for an old house.
I did fit a very good heating boiler 35 years ago and it works well and i have spent £40 on repairs in that time. Modern combis cost a fortune in repairs and often worn out at 10 years. I used to repair Vaillant makes and they did very well in large rented properties. Faults were flue fans and one of the control boards. That make generally lasted 15 years but they were always repairable.
