I can imagine nearly all batteries come from China these days.
If you are running non electric start bikes, use Yuasa fire alarm batteries. Design life is 4 years on standby in the panel but they actually last 8 years or more. Half the price of batteries sold as motorcycle batteries but far better quality. They can also be fitted any angle you like including on their sides but not totally upside down.
My Yuasas for the Triumph and BSA are NP7/12 which is a 7ah and happily runs the bike with lights on.These batteries have a very low discharge when not being charged. You can leave one for 6 months and it will still be ready to use.21 pounds at the moment on ebay
