Exmouth is hard to get in and out due to traffic lights for roadworks on all exit roads. Today i had to ride into the housing estates to get out.
With about 10,000 houses being built, they are adding a new road and roundabout but it joins to the narrow road to Exeter which gets totally blocked during the Morning drive to work.
Exmouth to Exeter, 10 miles takes over 1 hour and the journey will take 2 hours when the houses get occupied. A bicycle can always arrive faster than a car now.
700 of these houses are being built in a lane that will just about take a large car and lorries just bash along the tree branches. There are no passing spaces on the little lane and the planners ignored local advice.
There is no joy driving a car locally but the bike is still fairly good in the lanes here
