Can remember when many pubs had a hatch between the doors leading to the public & lounge bars. Can also remember half day closing in the week, think it varied from town to town.
Recall sometimes having to get a bus or cycle to the next town to buy essentials, like airfix glue or airgun pellets, in the school holidays, 'cos the shops in my town were shut.
