Started taking the Morini apart to find out the reason for low compression / burning a little oil.
It looks to be the rings, no slop in the valve guides and no burnt on oil on the back of the inlet valve, the seats are just about perfect.
Morini 350 rings are very hard to source, enter local Engineering shop.
A company called Cox & Turner in Yeovil about 20 miles from me, they will actually make you a set of rings - all I need do is supply the specs.
Looks like the bores are standard.
The price? About £70.
Looks like the Morini will be getting a new set fo rings.
I also noticed that the head gaskets had been blowing slightly which would not have helped compression.
Who needs a signature anyway......![]()
