If the free tax does get stopped and vehicles are then taxed at the standard rates, it will see less owners bothering with old bikes and cars. The current rates are:
Bikes
up to 150cc £26 per year
151-400cc £57
401-600cc £87
over 600 £121

Cars are based on emmissions but annual tax could be around $00 per year for larger ones.
