I got out too. Was 7c when I left for the rendezvous. Normally we get at least 6 or so turn up at this time of year, often a dozen or more. Not today! It was just me and one other.
Set off and there was more snow on the verges than I'd expected, then ice in the gutters and next occasional patches slush usually mid-bend to catch you out.
After abut 15 miles I needed to stop & clean the visor. My mate pulled up & said he'd just had a major "moment" when the front wheel slide away so he was playing it safe & going home.
I took a "long short cut" home in order to keep on main roads. It was a character building ride.
Then had a fun hour or so washing the bike in a bitter wind with intermittent drizzle.
But bloody good to get out on the bike for the first time this year!
