Commerfords in Thames Ditton, Surrey a dealer where I bought many bikes from including a new Ariel Arrow, Velocette Venom, Dunstall Norton SS, Suzuki GS850, New Norton Commando (pile of shite that spent more time back at there workshop than I did riding it) they also sold me my RD400 in 1977 at cost price so I could continue racing after number one son was born all I had to do was display Commerfords stickers on the bike. I repaid them by getting 7th palace in the Avon production class that year which wasn't bad for a bog standard bike. I also bought my very first car from them a Ford Anglia 105e. They ceased to trade in 1989 but were a good old school bike shop with very laid back sales staff who would let you test ride any bike you fancied. One of them became a very good friend that I spent lots of time out riding with. Being a London boy we spent many a Saturday going round to the large dealers in the area including Elite Motors in Tooting, Pride and Clarkes in Stockwell, Gus Kuhns which was just around the corner and Claude Rye in Fulham. I still think Commerfords was the best. Happy Daze.
