I did a few jumps at Thruxton many years ago, out of a DeHavilland Rapide, and the first jump that you do after packing your own chute certainly concentrates the mind.
I was driving a mini van at the time and after hearing strange sparking noises under my seat I discovered that one of the aluminium packing pegs had rolled across the battery terminals. Happy Daze.
