A 2011 car came in Today and looked immaculate all over as they usually do.
This one had a hole in the nearside sill the size of a fist and it was right through the inner sill.
The hole was right in line with where the 2 doors meet so right in the middle of the sill. It is hard to see why it rusted there and not at the area near the wheels.
Rust on cars down here is common due to drivers cruising the long seafront and driving in the salt water puddles so not a direct reflection on VW.
Some Ford Focus models are far worse.
The boy does these jobs for other local garages as they do not want welding in the larger garages due to fire risk. He loves welding more than mechanical repairs now he has reached 50 and gearboxes and engines are too heavy to handle
