The results are in.

At first it was blubbering until you gave it a big handfull, after fiddling with carb settings I ended up with air screws open 2 turns, needle down one notch from stock and it seemed to run pretty well, and surprisingly very little surging.

With the needles in the stock position it was blubbering at low throttle. Possibly the K&N filter is affecting carburation as I would say it is bit more restrictive than the stock filter.

Hopefully tomorrow I can take it for a longer run and see how it goes.

So far pretty happy with the results, although the clutch is very rattly on idle, rattle stops when you pull the clutch so guessing worn basket / clutch plates, no signs of any slipping.

If the clutch basket is worn then it is probably not the low mileage it might have been.

Ah well, it stops it starts it rides......
