Need you electrical advice please geoff.

Got an email today from SO electric saying they want to replace my meter with something they call a SMETS2; load of word salad about how my existing meter is worn out and inaccurate[it about 20yrs old.
I do not have a mobile phone because I live in a phone black spot and internet is very slow and intermittent,always dropping out and evening it more or less clogs up.
I have an idea that since my wife died my electricity use has plummeted and they think they are losing out. I submit monthly readings.
Can I have your words of wisdom on this please?
