with a smetts 2 meter , it will automaticle send them reading , they will try and get you to sign up for a direct debit , and even tho they have accurate readings , try and charge you more in somer to cover for winter usige they will say with a smart meter you MUST have direct debit , or pay a more expensive tarrif , if you pay on recept of bill

if they try this TELL them that you want monthly veriable , ie you pay for what you have used

if they decline , say no and go yo octupus , who email you a bill (correct reading from your meter) and his is taken from your bank 14 days later.

they cannot force a smart meter on you , but they will say they have no old type you can ask them to put them in dumb mode , and no connection to mothership , you contine to read and submit readings

check what tarrif you are on , because the bastards will charge you for ringing in yor readings and paying cash
